Neuro-Affirming Counselling
A safe, supportive space for neurodivergent people to feel seen, heard, and supported.
When Being Yourself Has Never Felt Safe
Many neurodivergent people can relate to the exhaustion of trying to shrink, mask, or perform just to be accepted, while feeling disconnected from your own thoughts, feelings, and voice in the process.
In counselling, we create a space where your authentic self is not only seen but valued, and where you can explore, express, and reclaim your voice at your own pace.
If any of these sound like you, counselling can help:
You’ve spent years feeling out of place, often misdiagnosed or given labels that never quite fit.
You feel burnt out and disconnected from who you really are, unsure where the mask ends and you begin.
You struggle to ask for support or accommodations, afraid of being seen as difficult or needy.
Social and structured environments leave you overwhelmed and drained.
You often feel emotionally dysregulated and ‘holding it all together’ often feels too much to handle.
You avoid conflict and difficult conversations but long to be understood.
At your core is a painful belief that you are either “too much” or “not enough.”

FAQs
Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?
Not at all. Whether you’re diagnosed, self-identifying, or still exploring, you’re welcome here. (A formal diagnosis may help for funding purposes, but it’s not required.)
Are online sessions as effective as in-person sessions?
Yes! Online sessions can be just as effective as in-person therapy. Many clients find that connecting from home creates a sense of comfort and safety, while still allowing for meaningful exploration, skill-building, and support. Techniques and tools used in-person translate well to a virtual setting, and you’ll still receive the same personalised guidance, attunement, and care.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your goals, your needs, and what feels right for you.
Some people come for short-term support around a specific challenge, while others choose ongoing sessions to build skills, confidence, and self-trust over time. We’ll regularly check in together to make sure the work is supporting you in a way that feels helpful and sustainable.
You’re always in control of the pace and length of your journey.
What if I’m not ready to unmask fully?
That’s absolutely okay. There is no pressure or expectation — your safety, pacing, and readiness guide our work.
What if I struggle to express myself verbally?
I can support you in using alternative means of communication so your voice is always heard.
Is this only for Autistic or ADHD clients?
I work with all neurodivergent clients, whether diagnosed or self-identifying. Neurodivergent simply means your brain works or develops differently from what’s considered typical. This is also for anyone experiencing masking, people-pleasing, sensory overwhelm, or identity confusion.
Will I be forced to “fix” or change who I am?
Not at all. This work is about acceptance, not becoming “more normal.” The goal is alignment with your true self, not changing who you are.
Unmasking feels scary — how does that work?
Unmasking can feel vulnerable. There’s no pressure to unmask all at once, or even at all. Our work is paced by your nervous system, needs, and readiness — with curiosity, consent, and compassion.
Are you a registered NDIS provider for counselling?
Yes, I am a registered NDIS provider for both counselling and speech pathology and can support you whether you are self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed.
